Dogs love foster homes!

Volunteer your time

Would you have space in your home and time to care for an unwanted dog until he/she could be placed into a permanent and loving home?

If you want unconditional love, good play mates for your dog(s), satisfaction that you had a part in enriching another family's life with a wonderful pet, watching abused and neglected dogs thrive in a loving environment, and giving a dog a second chance at life, fostering is for you!

If you have older children who are thinking about getting a part-time job or going to college, most potential employers and colleges look favorably at students who volunteer their time. It is also a great way to teach younger children responsibility.

You will find that dogs who have been rescued from a shelter are very appreciative. Most of our dogs are in your home 2-4 weeks before they are adopted- puppies usually a matter of days. The best part of fostering is the happy ending. It's hard to let them go, but you know they will be getting a good home where they will be loved and well cared for. Foster's are the heart of any rescue - without them these dogs won't get an opportunity for a better life. Thanks for considering foster care giving. It's an experience that will touch your heart.

We're looking for people who can:

Provide general care to our rescue animals. We will provide you a crate and free food!

Take our dogs for daily walks and exercise them. Keep them healthy and happy!

Figure out your foster dog's personality. We'll be relying on your input for potential families

Take pics! Give our dogs the time of their lives while they wait for their forever homes :)

If you have these skills we'd love to meet you!

it's a win-win for everyone!

Foster an animal in need

GDLRR provides veterinary care while the dog is in your care and expenses your incur, including mileage while caring for the dog, are tax deductible. If you need a crate or help with food, we can also help with those expenses. Keep in mind that every member of your family needs to buy-in to having the dog in your home.

Being a foster carer gives rescue animals a chance to live in a loving home where the can recover from trauma, work to overcome fears and fully express their personality in a safe space. Being a carer is the best decision I've ever made.
